Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, November 30, 2021. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

This week we will begin decorating our Jesse Tree in St. Joseph hall.  Each day we will add a couple of ornaments to symbolize the story of how God prepared his people for the coming of the Savior.  Today’s ornament is the tree stump - the stump of Jesse, which reminds us of the family tree of Jesus.

 

God has a plan for everything. Before Jesus was born lived a man named Jesse. Jesse has 7 sons; the youngest was named David. When David grew up he became a great king of Israel. God had a plan for Jesse and for his son David, even before they were born. Jesus was also part of Jesse and David’s family tree, born many years after David. People waited a long time for the birth of the savior. The season of Advent is a season of waiting for us, too. We wait for Christmas, but we also wait for the Second Coming of Christ at the end of time.  As we wait, we open our hearts to receive him.  In Jesus name we pray:

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Robotics will meet after school today.

 

National Honor Society will offer free tutoring today from 3:30 - 4:00, report to room 19. 

 

Mathcounts will meet after school on Friday. 

 

OLA Sports

Today: JV/V Basketball at Long Beach, JV at 4:00 and varsity at 6:00.  -JV/V Soccer at home vs. East Central, varsity at 5:30 and JV following.

Thursday: Junior High soccer at SSC vs. George County at 5:30.

Friday: Varsity Basketball at West Marion at 6 pm.  -JV/V soccer at home vs. St. Patrick, Varsity at 5:30 and JV following

Saturday: Varsity soccer at Showcase Tournament in Gulfport
