OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tuesday, November 9, 2021
Good Morning OLA! Today is Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.
Veterans Day is a public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of World War I (November 11) to honor US veterans and victims of all wars. It replaced Armistice Day in 1954. It’s a day for honoring all veterans — so no apostrophe needed.
Veterans Day is NOT the Same as Memorial Day. A lot of Americans get his confused. Veterans Day honors all of those who have served the county in war or peace – dead or alive – although it’s largely intended to thank living veterans for their sacrifices.
This week our prayers will be honoring Veterans. So please this week especially but always hold those who have served our country with the highest respect.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
“God, please let every veteran of our nation’s armed forces feel truly and appropriately honored by the attention and appreciation of their fellow citizens. Let no one feel forgotten or neglected. Let every man and woman, young or old, feel the deep and enduring gratitude of our nation and its inhabitants.” In Jesus' name we pray,
Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Please remain standing for the Pledge:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
