                                OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thursday, December 2, 2021

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Thursday, December 2, 2021.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Today we place the apple and snake and the ark on the Jesse Tree.

We heard yesterday that God created everything good, and without sin or evil in the world.  Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, bringing darkness and the consequences of sin and the rejection of God's love into the world.  Like a loving Father, God had to let them suffer the consequences of their choices.  They were sent from the beautiful garden and would now face hardship, suffering, and death.  But God made a promise that he would always love them and that he would send them a Savior.

God is sad when we turn from him and sin.  There came a time where there was so much sin in the world that God had to find a way to cleanse it.  God asked a righteous man, Noah, to build an ark for him and his family.  The ark kept Noah, his family, and the animals safe from the rain and the floods.  Just as sin rages around us today, Jesus gave us the Church to give us his grace and to keep us safe from sin and temptation.

As we continue our Advent journey, may we be mindful of our own and the sin around us and may we seek to have hearts that yearn for Jesus and goodness.  In Jesus name we pray:

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
