Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, December 1, 2021. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Today we place the watch tower and the creation ornaments on our Jesse Tree.

 

Habakkuk is one of the minor prophets of the Old Testament. He laments God's good and righteous children suffering at the hands of their enemies.  God tells Habakkuk to stand watch at the watchtower and wait for God to come in glory and justice.  We are reminded that in our busy lives, we need to stop and watch and hope for the coming of Christ.

 

God is the creator of all things, and everything he created was good.  Even though there is now sin and sadness in the world, God still cares for us.  We are to show thanksgiving to God for his creation by caring for the gift of our lives, the lives of others, and all living things.

 

Thank you, Lord, for making our wonderful world.  May we live lives that help reflect you and the glory of your kingdom on earth.  In Jesus name we pray:

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

Service Hours Opportunity:  Looking for volunteers to help out with the Nativity Walk this Thursday between 3:30-5:30, putting out the luminaries in Old Town.  Please contact the front office if you can help.

 

There will be a campus ministry meeting tomorrow (Thursday) at 8am in Mrs Mayer’s room.  We will be discussing our December visit to Dunbar Village.  The residents are very excited to welcome us back!

 

There will be a drama club meeting Thursday after school for anyone with a part in the first song of the play.

 

National Honor Society will offer free tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:00, report to room 19. 

Mathcounts will meet after school on Friday. 

 

OLA Sports

The JV and varsity soccer teams both beat East central last night. Great job!

Tomorrow: Junior High soccer at SSC vs. George County at 5:30.

Friday: Varsity Basketball at West Marion at 6 pm.  -JV/V soccer at home vs. St. Patrick, Varsity at 5:30 and JV following

Saturday: Varsity soccer at Showcase Tournament in Gulfport
