Good Morning OLA!   Today is Monday, January 24, 2022. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Mark 9:35 - Sitting down, Jesus called the twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."

Thoughts on today's verse:  Last? Nobody likes to be last. Jesus reverses the rank. The person who is most important to him is not the person seeking the status and notoriety. The most important person is like Jesus himself: willing to give up rank and status and importance to serve. For Jesus, last means first in service and first in the eyes of God.

Lord Jesus, help us to see those you want us to serve with grace and kindness as we try to be more like you. In Jesus name we pray…

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating their Birthday on Friday was Claire Wojtowicz.  And celebrating their birthday today is Maryanne Balch.  Happy Birthday Claire & Maryanne!

 

Important LEGO League Meeting today during first lunch.  Meet in Biology Lab for a short meeting.

 

Important meeting for Alpha Omega Robotics in Room 22 at lunch.  Anyone who is a member now or wants to join please be there.

 

ACT Preparation Course for Juniors and Seniors will be Monday, February 7 – Thursday, February 10 at SSC to prepare for the ACT Test on Saturday, Feb 12^th.  See flyer posted in the front office window

 

Taekwondo will meet after school today at 3:30 p.m. in the Physic Lab.

Mathcounts will meet on Friday.

 

Any student open to intentionally praising Jesus in our upcoming Tri-School Mass, there will be Practice on Monday during 5th period lunch at the church.  Eat as quickly as possible and report for practice.

 

OLA Sports

Archery, Track, Golf, Tennis and Softball seasons are here!  Tryouts for tennis will be held today in Diamondhead at 4. Tryouts for golf will be held today after school at the Bridges Golf Course in Bay St. Louis.  Practice for Softball will begin after school today.  There will be a track meeting on Thursday, January 27th at 3:30 in the commons and the first practice will be on February 1st.  Stay tuned for the date of the archery meeting/first practice date announcement.  To participate in these sports you must have a current physical on file and your dragonflymax.com account must be complete.  If you have any questions please see Coach Corley. 

 

Tuesday: First round of soccer playoffs at McLaurin High School at 5:30 pm

-Varsity basketball at Tylertown at 5:30 pm

Thursday: Track interest meeting at 3:45 in The Commons

Friday: Varsity basketball vs. Jeff Davis at SSC at 5 pm

 

LISTEN UP!!!!!!! School Mass TOMORROW, remember to wear your oxford shirt!
