Good Morning OLA!  Today is Tuesday, January 4, 2022. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Isaiah 1:16-17 - Stop doing wrong, learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless.

Thoughts on today's verse:  God wants us to not get so caught up in talking about him and celebrating his deeds, that we forget we're supposed to care for others like he does.  We must realize true faith is treating others as God would.

O Great God of all comfort, open our eyes today to see those who need your love and give us the attentiveness, time, and compassion to serve them. May Jesus' work be seen in our lives today, as we pray….

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating their birthday today is Avery Matheson.  Happy Birthday Avery!

 

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

Beginning today, students will remain in the Commons until the 8:20 a.m. bell. Students should not hang out at lockers or in classrooms before 8:20. You may go to a teacher's classroom for make-up work, tutoring, or testing. You should not go to a teacher's classroom for any other reason in the morning.

 

Report Cards:  Report Cards were emailed home yesterday. Hard copies will not be distributed. This is our first time generating report cards using FACTS SIS. Juniors and Seniors - please look at your report card carefully. If a discrepancy is found with a class you dropped earlier in the year, stop in and see Mrs. Gelpi.

 

Email:  Students be sure to check your school email each day. Many important announcements are sent home from the front office, guidance department, or your teachers, so you need to check your email several times throughout the day.

Taekwondo will meet on Wednesday and Mathcounts will meet on Friday. 

 

There will be a mandatory meeting of ALL drama club members in the Commons after school this Thursday, January 6.  Please make every effort to be there.  

 

Melanie Champagne earned two Gold medals at the American Grappling Federation Jujitsu Tournament.  Great Job Melanie!

 

OLA Sports

Today: Varsity soccer at Long Beach at 6 pm

-Varsity basketball at home vs. Perry Central at 5 

Thursday: Varsity soccer at Sacred Heart at 5:30

-Junior high soccer at home (SSC) vs. Long Beach middle at 5:30

Friday: Varsity basketball at home vs. Tylertown at 5:30
