Good Morning OLA! Today is Thursday, January 6, 2022.
Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
1 Peter 1:13 - Prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
Thoughts on today's verse: When Jesus came the first time, he came to reveal God (John 1:18). As wonderful, powerful, and gracious as he was in his earthly ministry, it did not fully reveal Jesus our Lord. Our hope is tied to his return. When he comes this time, he won't come to reveal God, but to reveal himself -- the conquering Lord, the Rider on the white horse. Every knee will bow. And we will see him as he really and fully is, Immanuel in power and grace. With this as our hope, we can be ready for active service to our king as people who live their lives under his leadership and control.
O Almighty God, we long for the day when we get to see Jesus face to face coming with the angels in power. Until that time, fasten our hearts in hope to the glory Jesus will share with us on that day, and please empower us to live as one who knows that victory is ours in Jesus. As we pray
Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Celebrating their birthday today is Isabella LaFontaine. Happy Birthday Isabella!
IMPORTANT MESSAGES
Reminder, when arriving to school, you MUST report to the Commons and remain there until the 8:20 bell. Students should not hang out at lockers, in the Gap or in classrooms before 8:20. Also, students should check their school email several times throughout the day.
Robotics will meet on today and Mathcounts will meet on Friday.
There will be a mandatory meeting of ALL Drama Club members in the Commons after school TODAY.

OLA Sports
Today: Varsity soccer at Sacred Heart at 5:30. Jr high soccer at home (SSC) vs. Long Beach middle at 5:30.
Friday: Varsity basketball at home vs. Tylertown at 5:30.
Softball conditioning will begin on Monday at 3:45 pm at the softball field. If you are interested in joining softball but could not attend Wednesday's meeting, be sure to come to the field on Monday and talk to the coaches.
