Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, January 25, 2022. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Philippians 4:8  -  Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -- think about such things.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Our actions follow our thoughts.  So in a day when so much around us trains us to find the negative in life, we must aggressively think and pursue the character, the qualities, and the things of God's goodness.

Holy and Magnificent God, thank you for being better than anything our world can offer us. Thank you for calling us to a higher standard than the world accepts. Thank you for giving we the promise of a better future than any human can imagine. In Jesus' holy name we pray.

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating their Birthday today is Kimberly Pennell.  Happy Birthday Kimber!

 

Robotics will meet today at the end of lunch at12:35 in room 22 for an important meeting

 

National Honor Society tutoring will return today in Mrs. Colbert's room right after school until 4. For all honor society members, it is an easy way to get service hours completed. 

 

Campus ministry will have a meeting on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. 

 

CAC meeting Friday 8 am in room 17.   All are invited.   Bring your best pep rally ideas.   Winter sport pep rally February 4.   

 

Attention High School Students! Looking to volunteer? The Buddy Ball Baseball Program helps special needs young people participate in T-ball and is looking for special volunteers. The program has not been up and running since Covid and is trying to get back into the "swing of things," No Pun Intended. It is a great way for you to connect with the community and earn volunteer hours. Interested 9-12th grade students should see the flyer in the office window and volunteer registration is handled on the web page: www.msgulfcoastbuddysports.org

 

ACT Preparation Course for Juniors and Seniors will be Monday, February 7 – Thursday, February 10 at SSC to prepare for the ACT Test on Saturday, Feb 12th.  See flyer posted in the front office window.


Mathcounts will meet on Friday.

 

OLA Sports

There will be a track meeting on Thursday, January 27th at 3:30 in the commons and the first practice will be on February 1st.  The archery team meeting will be on Wednesday, January 24th after school in The Commons. 

To participate in these sports you must have a current physical on file and your dragonflymax.com account must be complete.  If you have any questions please see Coach Corley. 

 

Today: First round of soccer playoffs at McLaurin High School at 5:30 pm

-Varsity basketball at Tylertown at 5:30 pm

Thursday: Track interest meeting at 3:45 in The Commons

Friday: Varsity basketball vs. Jeff Davis at SSC at 5 pm
