Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, January 5, 2022. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Ephesians 5:1-2 - Be imitators of God as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Love for God is never something that occurs just in our minds or our hearts. Love is something we do for another -- it is action. We must love in both our deeds and our words. Love means to give ourselves up -- what we want, our rights, our desires -- to honor God and serve others. This is a kind of love that can change the world.

Father, we will never fully understand how you could love us so much that you would allow your son to die for us. Please help us to love others sacrificially. We know the power to do this is not within us, so please pour your love into our hearts so that we may share that love with others. Through Jesus, we pray……

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

Reminder, when arriving to school, you MUST report to the Commons and remain there until the 8:20 bell. Students should not hang out at lockers, in the Gap or in classrooms before 8:20.  Also, students should check their school email several times throughout the day.

 

Taekwondo will meet today; Robotics will meet on Thursday and Mathcounts will meet on Friday. 

 

There will be a mandatory meeting of ALL Drama Club members in the Commons after school this Thursday, January 6.  Please make every effort to be there.  

 

OLA Sports

The basketball team beat Perry Central 48-42 last night! Congratulations girls!!!

 

Thursday: Varsity soccer at Sacred Heart at 5:30

-Junior high soccer at home (SSC) vs. Long Beach middle at 5:30

Friday: Varsity basketball at home vs. Tylertown at 5:30
