                            OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

           

Good Morning OLA!  Today is Friday, May 6, 2022.

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

James 5:16  Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Thoughts on today's verse:  To confess is to do two things with our sin: 1) to recognize sin for what it is in God's eyes and 2) to get rid of our secrets and be honest with another Christian. James' language is powerful. He mentions that this confession doesn't just bring forgiveness. It also brings healing.  Jesus’ name we pray:

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

ATTENTION CLASS PRESIDENTS.....ALL BACKDROPS AND POLES MUST BE PICKED UP FROM THE GYM OR THEY WILL BE THROWN AWAY. 

 

It’s that time of year again! Our Lady of the Gulf’s Vacation Bible School is working on getting service hours out to students who would like to help. This year VBS is July 11-15^th (8:45) 9-12:30pm. Breakfast and snacks provided. Limited spaces are available so sign up on the volunteer form at olgchurch.net

Any questions students can ask Mrs. Tolar or Mrs. Massery or see flyer in office winsow.  We always need a lot of help from our OLA girls to make every year a success and they always come through!

 

Student Council and Class Officer Elections will be held next week. Student Council officer elections will be held on Thursday, class officer and student council representative elections will be on Friday. 

If you are interested in running for student council or class officer, the paperwork can be picked up from Mrs. Colbert. Paperwork is due NO LATER than Tuesday, May 10^th.   Student council sign-up will be outside of Mrs. Colbert's door.

Class officers you will sign-up for the grade that you will be entering next year.  Sign-up sheets are located outside the following classrooms:

8^th graders - Mrs. Tolar's room; 9^th graders - Mrs. Frey's room; 10^th graders - Mrs. Haas' room; 11^th graders -  Ms. Chapman's room; and  12^th graders - Mrs. Gelpi's office.

 

OLA Sports

Basketball tryouts will be held next week after school for 9th-12th grade. Junior high tryouts will also be held next week at 5:30-7 pm.  If you plan to tryout, please put your name on the sign-up sheet on the office window.

 

Please return all outstanding uniforms to Coach Corley by Friday of this week!!

 

Listen Up:  Mrs. Mayer’s 2^nd and 4^th Period classes, please report to Mrs. Cuveas’ classroom today.

Ms. Ashley’s 1^st Period Class, report to Mrs. Griffith’s classroom.

Ms. Ashley’s 7^th Period Class, report to Ms. Chapman’s classroom.
