Good Morning OLA!  Today is Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

2 Corinthians 7:14  If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Humility is not our culture's biggest asset or most desired character quality. Humility is earned! So let's be humble and call upon the Lord!

Holy and Almighty God, your deeds are awesome, your faithfulness is overwhelming, and your mercy and grace are such a blessing. Our culture and country have made a mess of what you so wonderfully blessed us with. We come humbly asking that you reassert yourself in our nation in clearly recognizable ways. In Jesus’ name we pray:

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating their birthday today is Annie Bean.  Happy Birthday Annie!

 

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

Congratulations to the Seniors! They sold the most $1 raffle tickets and will spend the day at the Diamondhead pool tomorrow, May 5th!  You MUST return your signed permission slip!!!!

 

Student Council and Class Officer Elections will be held next week. Student Council officer elections will be held on Thursday, class officer and student council representative elections will be on Friday. 

If you are interested in running for student council or class officer, the paperwork can be picked up from Mrs. Colbert. Paperwork is due NO LATER than Tuesday, May 10^th.   Student council sign-up will be outside of Mrs. Colbert's door.

Class officers you will sign-up for the grade that you will be entering next year.  Sign-up sheets are located outside the following classrooms:

8^th graders - Mrs. Tolar's room; 9^th graders - Mrs. Frey's room; 10^th graders - Mrs. Haas' room; 11^th graders -  Ms. Chapman's room; and  12^th graders - Mrs. Gelpi's office.

 

Taekwondo will meet after school today at 3:30 p.m. in the Physic Lab.  This will be their last meeting this year.

 

OLA Sports

Basketball tryouts will be held next week after school for 9th-12th grade. Junior high tryouts will also be held next week at 5:30-7 pm.  If you plan to tryout, please put your name on the sign-up sheet on the office window.

 

Please return all outstanding uniforms to Coach Corley by Friday of this week!!
