Good Morning OLA!   

 

Today is Monday, August 8, 2022. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  

 

Dear Lord,

As our students attend OLA, I pray that you will keep them in your care.

Send your Spirit to open their minds to all that is true and beautiful and good.

Help them to see the gifts and talents you have given them and to use them well.

Help them to grow in knowledge and wisdom.

Help them to be kind to others and lead others to be kind to them.

Give their teachers patience and understanding and help them teach what is just and true.

Send your angels to guide and guard our students and to keep them from all harm.

Open their young hearts to your presence and enfold them in your peace and protection.

Hold them in the palm of your hand and bring them home safely at days end.  As we Pray….

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Birthdays

Celebrating their Birthday yesterday was Isabella Kerner.  Happy Belated Birthday Isabella. 

 

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

The first meeting of the Chorus Club will be on Wednesday, August 10th during 5th Lunch.  If you are interested in being in the Chorus Club, please go straight to the cafeteria, get your food and report to Mrs. Jarrell's classroom.  Can't wait to see everyone!

Car Riders MUST be dropped-off and picked-up through the carline.  Students should not be dropped off, nor picked up in front of the school on Union Street; or behind the community center.  When arriving to school, all Students Must Report to Commons Each Morning.  All students are to remain in the Commons until the bell rings at 8:20, at which time they should report to their first period call and turn in their cell phones.

When the bell rings at the end of the day, please report to the car rider pick-up line ASAP.    Do not hang out at your locker or talk with your friends.  Report outside as soon as possible in order to keep the line moving!

 

Picayune Bus Riders – Listen up!  This afternoon, you will exit through the BACK GATE in get on the bus.  This is a change from previous years.  So remember, at the end of the day at 3:30, please exit through the back gate to meet the Picayune bus.

 

OLA Sports

Swim team tryouts will be held Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-6. You must be able to swim the length of the pool and have a physical on file in order to try out.  Any questions please see a swim team member.  

 

Monday: Junior High volleyball at home vs. St. Martin, B team at 5:30 and A team to follow

Tuesday: 9th grade, JV and varsity volleyball at home vs. Hancock, 9th grade at 4:30, JV at 5:30 and varsity to follow

Thursday: 9th grade, JV and varsity volleyball at Long Beach, 9th grade at 4:30, JV at 5:30 and varsity to follow

-Junior High volleyball at Ocean Springs, B team at 5 and A team at 6

Saturday: Inter-team swim meet at 9 am at SSC
