Good Morning OLA!   

Today is Tuesday, August 23, 2022. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  

Psalms 94:18-19
When I said, "My foot is slipping," your love, O Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.

Thoughts on today's verse:  While we are amazed at the vastness of God's reach and the awesome breadth of his power and the glorious sweep of his majesty, the incredible truth is his personal nearness to us. He chooses to know us and be actively involved in the trials and triumphs of each day with us. How will today, or tomorrow, be different because you are aware of his presence and companionship?

God who is near, please hear our hearts. We are overwhelmed at your presence near us and within us. The comfort you bring when we are under siege, the strength you offer when we are weak, the courage you give when we are under attack, and the hope you instill when all seems hopeless -- these gifts of your presence are precious to us. Without your presence we would not know where to go or why we are here. Thank you for knowing us. We look forward to knowing you one day as you know us today. In Jesus name we pray….

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating their birthday today is Ava McArthur.  Happy Birthday Ava!

 

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

DO NOT leave book bags or other items next to your lockers.  If you need to rent an extra locker, please stop by the office.

 

PLEASE return your raffle ticket stubs and money to the office as soon as possible.  Place the ticket stubs and money (or a note stating “Charge to FACTS) in a sealed envelope, with the student’s name listed on the front of the envelope. 

 

Order your 2022 Campus Ministry T-shirt before they are gone!  See Mrs. Mayer, shirts are $20 and can be charged to your FACTS account.

 

Chorus meets during lunch TODAY, get your food as quickly as possible and report to Mrs. Jarrell's room.

 

Breakfast is available each morning in the Commons. 

 

OLA SPORTS

Both junior high teams beat D’iberville last night in volleyball! Great job girls!

 

Today: 9th/JV/V Volleyball at West Harrison- 9th at 4:30. JV at 5:30 and varsity to follow.

Swim meet at home vs. D’Iberville at 5 pm.

 

Wednesday: Junior High Volleyball at home vs.Biloxi- White Team at 5 and Maroon Team to follow.

Thursday: JV and Varsity Volleyball at home vs. Vancleve- JV at 5:30 and varsity to follow.

Saturday: OLA Kickoff Classic Volleyball Tournament at OLA.

Cross Country at St. Stanislaus Meet 8:15 at SSC.

Swim Team at Coastal Invitational at Biloxi Natatorium at 10:30 am.
