Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, August 24, 2022. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  

 

Psalms 116:1-2  I love the Lord, he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Understanding the Lord's love and nearness should lead us to serve him and continue our relationship with him. While we love God for many reasons, we want to express our love to him today especially for his personal concern for us.

Father, thank you for hearing our prayers. Thank you for answering so many with the answer we sought from you. Give us patience when we cannot see your hand in other situations. We believe and trust you are there and working for our good even when we can't see it. Please strengthen our faith so that we will never outlive our trust and faith in you.  In Jesus name we pray….

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating their birthdays today are Sofia Chacon and Liza Richoux.  Happy Birthday Sofia and Liza!

 

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

The National Art Honor Society is looking for new members with exceptional art skills and a desire to better their community.  Students who have at least one art credit are eligible to apply.  Interested applicants should see Mrs. Bush for more information. 

 

Bring your special intentions and join campus ministry tomorrow morning for our monthly rosary.  Due to the weather, we will pray together, Mrs. Mayer’s classroom.  Prayer will begin promptly at 8am.

 

DO NOT leave book bags or other items next to your lockers.  If you need to rent an extra locker, please stop by the office.

 

PLEASE return your raffle ticket stubs and money to the office as soon as possible

 

Chorus meets during lunch TODAY, get your food as quickly as possible and report to Mrs. Jarrell's room.

 

Breakfast is available each morning in the Commons. 

 

OLA SPORTS

The 9th grade, JV and varsity teams beat West Harrison in volleyball last night. Congratulations girls. 

Today: Junior High Volleyball at home vs. Biloxi - White Team at 5 and Maroon Team to follow.

Thursday: JV and Varsity Volleyball at home vs. Vancleve- JV at 5:30 and varsity to follow.

Saturday: OLA Kickoff Classic Volleyball Tournament at OLA.

Cross Country at St. Stanislaus Meet 8:15 at SSC.

Swim Team at Coastal Invitational at Biloxi Natatorium at 10:30 am.

 

PLEASE LISTEN!  The nice salad bowls which were being used since the beginning of school, half of these bowls are missing, possibly were thrown away.  Disposable bowls were used last Friday, Monday and Tuesday.  We will be using a plate for salad starting today until new salad bowls come in.
