Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, September 14, 2022. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Philippians 2:1-2  If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Our call to sacrificially submit ourselves to others does not begin with our sacrifice, but with God's blessings. We are called to unity in spirit and purpose after having received all these blessings from being in Jesus!

Holy and righteous Father, you have blessed us so richly in Jesus. Open our eyes to see how those around us in our spiritual family need to receive those same blessings from us. 'Through Jesus we pray.

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

Lego Robotics League meeting today for anyone in the 7th or 8th grade, see Mrs. Rogers if interested.

 

For the pep rally on Friday, if you plan to wear shorts or a skirt, it must be to the top of the knee.  If you are planning to wear tights or leggings, you must wear a t-shirt to cover at least to mid-thigh.  You can wear a tutu over your t-shirt.  Tops should be modest, no cleavage or mid drifts showing, shoes should have backs. If you have an actual animal costume, it must be worn all day so make sure it is comfortable and you can sit in a desk and complete your work. If you have a face mask, you will need to remove it for each class.  Some of you have said you have a blow up costume, so you will need to wait to put costume on after 8th period.  If you would like to do face paint, YOU MUST WAIT TO PAINT YOUR FACE AT LUNCH on Friday.  For those that choose not to participate need to be in their full uniform.  Those students not properly dressed; will need to call home for their school uniform.  Please do not break the rules or we will not be able to dress up for future pep rallies.  

 

Are you in grades 9-12 and looking for an amazing retreat?  The Diocese of Biloxi LIFT retreat for girls will be held November 4-6.  Applications will open soon.  For more information, please see Mrs. Mayer.  

 

Taekwondo Club meeting TODAY after school.

 

Campus Ministry meeting tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. in Mrs. Mayer’s room.

 

There will be a Drama Club Meeting in Mrs. Bush's room after school on Thursday at 3:30.  If you were a cast member in last year's show, The Rainbow Fish, please try to attend even if you are not sure you are going to be in Drama Club this year.

 

OLA Run for Mercy

Come out and support a great cause, the race is this Saturday at 8:00am at Washington Pavilion.  The cost is 25.00 and you will receive a t-shirt.  We are also collecting new and gently used tennis shoes. 

 

Chorus meets during lunch TODAY, get your food as quickly as possible and report to Mrs. Jarrell's room.

 

Raffle Tickets:  Please return your tickets to the office, due date is TOMORROW!

 

OLA SPORTS

Today: Junior high volleyball at Biloxi, White team at 5 and maroon to follow

Thursday: 9th/JV/V volleyball at home vs. Pass High, 9th at 4:30, JV at 5:30 and varsity to follow

Saturday: Cross Country at Ocean Springs Invitational

-Swim team at West Jones Invitational

-Cross Country at Gulfport Admiral Meet at 9 am

-Swim team at home vs. Slidell at 10 am
