OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Thursday, November 10, 2022
Good Morning OLA! Today is Thursday, November 10, 2022.
Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God as we offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Tomorrow, we will honor our Veterans, who have served our country with the highest respect.
When Francis Scott Key wrote the “Star Spangled Banner” almost 200 years ago, he called America, “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Those words are as true today as they were then. Throughout this Nation’s history, America’s soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and coast guardsmen have bravely answered the call to defend our freedom, to aid our friends and allies, and to turn back aggressors. We can never fully repay our debt of gratitude to those American service members who died or were wounded in battle. We can, however, recognize and thank the veterans living today.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
“Father God, You know that it can be difficult for a person who has returned from battle or stressful military service to reintegrate into ‘normal’ everyday life. You know that veterans can feel isolated and alone even in the midst of their friends and families because there are few around who understand their experience. So we ask You to place in the path of our veterans those who do understand (or strive to), that they may feel less alone. Remind them often that while their fellow human beings may never fully comprehend, You see, You know and You identify with them in everything.” In Jesus' name we pray,
Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Please remain standing for the Pledge:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
