Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, November 15, 2022. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God as we offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Breathe into us, Holy Spirit, that our thoughts may all be holy. Move in us, Holy Spirit, that our work, too, may be holy. Attract our hearts, Holy Spirit, that we may love only what is holy. Strengthen us, Holy Spirit, that we may defend all that is holy. Protect us, Holy Spirit, that we may always be holy.   In Jesus name we pray,

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating their birthday today is Taylor Henley.  Happy Birthday Taylor!

 

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

Congratulations are in order for the students who participated in the LEAD MISSISSIPPI Youth Legislature last week.     Amelia McCall and Alexandra Bujan's bill passed and was signed into law by the Youth Governor.  It was a bill to incentivize farmers to donate produce to food banks in Mississippi in return they would receive a tax deduction.   Peyton Laurent's bill also passed.  It was a bill to mandate a sex education class in high schools.    Alex Bujan was elected as House Majority Leader and will serve at Junior Youth Legislature in the Spring as well as "Big" Youth Leg in the Fall 2023.    Great job ladies!

 

Join Campus Ministry and help the St. Vincent de Paul Society's Thanksgiving Food Drive! Bring any nonperishable food items to your first period class by November 17 to earn ice cream at lunch! If you have any questions, see Mrs. Mayer!

 

If you have attended a Diocesan Search Retreat or LIFT Girls Retreat at any time, please sign the list on Mrs. Mayer's door.  There is some important information that will be coming and she doesn't want you to miss it!

 

Juniors, Seth Davis will be here tomorrow at lunch to take orders for class rings.

 

OLA Sports

The junior high basketball team beat Long Beach middle 46-25.
The junior high soccer team beat Pass Middle 9-1.
Great job crescents!
-The varsity basketball team will play Sacred Heart at home tonight at 6 pm.
