                           OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Friday, December 2, 2022

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Friday, December 2, 2022.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God as we offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

This morning, we light one purple candle on our wreath for the first week of Advent, the week of hope.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Let us pray:  Father God, every word in scripture points to the gift of hope that we have because of Christ Jesus. The Christmas story wasn’t the beginning of that message of hope because the old testament is full of glimpses of your plan to redeem your people and restore them into a relationship with you, but we are able to truly begin to see and understand just how great your love for us is when we read the story of Jesus’ birth in scripture. That first Christmas, you gave us the gift of hope wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger. Thank you, Father, for your immeasurable gift. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Today we place Jacob's ladder and Joseph's coat of many colors on our Jesse tree.

Jacob had made some bad decisions and ran away from his family for many years.  God came to him in a dream and reminded him of the promises made to his father and grandfather.  He told him that he should not be afraid to face up to the things he had done wrong and ask for forgiveness.

Joseph was loved very much by his father, and his brothers were jealous.  They sold him into slavery in Egypt.  Joseph had a special gift of understanding dreams and he became very important to Pharoah.  He met his brothers again, and because he had a very forgiving heart, he was able to forgive them and save them from famine.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
