Good Morning OLA!   Today is Thursday, December 8, 2022. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God as we offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Today we light the second candle on our Advent wreath, representing peace. Father, this second week of Advent, keep us in perfect peace as our mind stays on the truth of your powerful love. Thank you for your mighty, sovereign hand. Help us to trust fully in you and rest in the peace that you offer. It’s in the precious name of Jesus we pray.

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Today we place Solomon's temple and staff on the Jesse Tree.

God foretold that David's son and heir, Solomon, would be the one to build a temple to the Lord God. Solomon did, in fact, complete the construction of the Temple in Jerusalem during his reign.

King Solomon of Israel was David’s son.  He ruled Israel for 40 years, built a temple for God, had a lot of money and gold, and he wrote books in the Bible too.  He was very wise, and the Bible says that many Kings and rulers would travel to see him and hear what he had to say. The longest prayer recorded in the Bible is Solomon’s prayer as he dedicated God’s Temple.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

Come out to the annual "Late Night Breakfast" Study Session on Tuesday, December 13th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the OLA Commons, hosted by Mu Alpha Theta.  Come study with your friends, ask your teachers those last minute exam questions, and enjoy some bacon (and other breakfast foods)!  Any questions, see Ms. Ashley. 

 

Any Chorus Club member who would like to go to Dunbar Village after school on Tuesday, December 13 to go Christmas Caroling with Campus Ministry, please see Mrs. Jarrell.  You will need to have your own ride over to Dunbar Village and ride home.  We should be done around 4:30. Please come and help spread Christmas cheer!

Varsity Basketball at Bay High at 6:00.
