                           OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tuesday, December 13, 2022

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God as we offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

We remember that we are in week 3 of our  Advent season.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, this third week of Advent, let us remember that the good news of Jesus’ birth has the power to bring us great joy this Christmas season.  Our joy isn’t dependent on what is going on in our life, in our world, or the people that we are with.  It doesn’t depend on the gifts we give or the gifts we find under the tree.  No earthly thing can ever give us complete joy.  Our joy comes from you.  That joy that flooded the hearts of the shepherds, the angels, the wise men, the hosts of heaven, and Mary and Joseph is the joy that still has the power to overwhelm our hearts with rejoicing.  Our joy doesn’t come from our jobs, our family,, our relationships, our finances, or our success.  Our joy doesn’t come from what we have on earth or who we are with.  Our joy is a gift.  It is the gift that you have us that first Christmas in Jesus Christ.  Our joy is encompassed in our Savior, King Jesus.  Flood our heart with joy this Advent season as we reflect on the good news of Jesus’ birth.  In Jesus’ precious name we pray.  Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Today we place the Star of Bethlehem and Watch Tower on our Jesse Tree.

Jesus was the promised Son of David, the Messiah of the chosen people of Israel.  His mission would extend far beyond Israel to the ends of the earth, as God had promised to Abraham long ago.  The Chosen People had waited and watched for a long time for the Savior to come.  The Star of Bethlehem symbolizes the extent of God’s work of salvation in Christ:  it reaches to the very heavens and is proclaimed to those in far away lands, such as the three Wise Men who would come to adore him

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
