                          OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tuesday, December 6, 2022

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God as we offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Today we light the second candle on our Advent wreath, representing peace. Father, this second week of Advent, keep us in perfect peace as our mind stays on the truth of your powerful love. Thank you for your mighty, sovereign hand. Help us to trust fully in you and rest in the peace that you offer. It’s in the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

We place Rahab's rope and a bundle of grain on the Jesse Tree today.

Rahab honored God because she believed in God’s power. In return, the Israelites protected Rahab and her family. Rahab hung a red rope from the window in her house so that the Israelites would remember to protect her. God remember her and took care of her the rest of her life.

Ruth and Naomi lost all the people they loved and were widowed.
Naomi decides to return to her homeland, Bethlehem and instructs her daughter-in-law to return to her family. Ruth, in an act of loyalty, tells Naomi that she will not leave her. One of the most beautiful verses in the Bible is Ruth’s reply to Naomi: “Wherever you go, I will go, wherever you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people and your God, my God. Where you die I will die and there be buried.” (Ruth 1:16-17) Ruth and Naomi went to collect grain that farmers left behind as many women did, and they met Boaz, a relative of Naomi. Boaz took care of, protected, and provided for the women. Ruth and Boaz got married, and from them will descend King David.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
