                            OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wednesday, December 14, 2022

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, December 14, 2022

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God as we offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

We remember that we are in week 3 of our Advent season.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, this third week of Advent, let us remember that the good news of Jesus’ birth has the power to bring us great joy this Christmas season.  Our joy isn’t dependent on what is going on in our life, in our world, or the people that we are with.  It doesn’t depend on the gifts we give or the gifts we find under the tree.  No earthly thing can ever give us complete joy.  Our joy comes from you.  That joy that flooded the hearts of the shepherds, the angels, the wise men, the hosts of heaven, and Mary and Joseph is the joy that still has the power to overwhelm our hearts with rejoicing.  Our joy doesn’t come from our jobs, our family,, our relationships, our finances, or our success.  Our joy doesn’t come from what we have on earth or who we are with.  Our joy is a gift.  It is the gift that you have us that first Christmas in Jesus Christ.  Our joy is encompassed in our Savior, King Jesus.  Flood our heart with joy this Advent season as we reflect on the good news of Jesus’ birth.  In Jesus’ precious name we pray.  Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Today we place the angel Gabriel and Mary and Joseph on the tree.

Luke’s gospel is the only place that we find the details of Jesus’ birth. At the end of her pregnancy, Mary and Joseph are called to travel to Bethlehem to be enrolled in a census. The journey takes place because of a political decree, but make no mistake this is God’s plan in action. The theme of the journey is significant. Joseph and Mary journey to Bethlehem where their baby will be born. The shepherds in the fields journey in haste to the stable after a visitation from a host of angels. In Matthew’s gospel, we read that the magi journey, following a star, led them to the Christ child, whom they honor. And, on this Christmas Eve, we come to the end of our Advent journey. All of these journeys lead to the same place – the coming of Jesus Christ into the world and into our lives. But the journey does not end there. When we meet Jesus, our Savior, He takes us on another journey back to the Father.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
