                                OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wednesday, December 7, 2022

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God as we offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Today we light the second candle on our Advent wreath, representing peace. Father, this second week of Advent, keep us in perfect peace as our mind stays on the truth of your powerful love. Thank you for your mighty, sovereign hand. Help us to trust fully in you and rest in the peace that you offer. It’s in the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Today we place a crown and shepherd on the Jesse Tree to symbolize the calling of David and the Davidic Kingdom.

We all know the story of young David bravely beating the giant Goliath to defend the people. David was first a shepherd, but when God called him to lead the nation of Israel, he became a shepherd of God's people to help them become what God wanted them to be.  His job was to model for them how to please God.

The Chosen People thrived as the Nation of Israel under King David. David established the City of Jerusalem as a capital city and it became a place of pilgrimage and worship. David was not a perfect king, but he relied on God's mercy and grace. David's successors fell further and further away from God, and their power diminished.  But God did not forget His promises, and eventually another Son of David, Jesus Christ, would establish A kingdom that would never end.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
