Good Morning OLA!  Today is Monday, August 14, 2023. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Philippians 2:14-16 - Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Stars. They've always been a source of constant hope for God's people. Jesus was a bright star come to us from heaven to shine God's light to those in darkness.

Almighty God, we thank you for calling us to be a light in the dark world around us and we pledge to shine your light today and always. Through Jesus we pray.

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

Listen Up – Tri-School Mass tomorrow morning at the SSC Gym.  All students must wear their oxford shirts.  Students must sit with their class.  As always, parents are invited to attend and should sit in the parent section of the gym.

 

Crescent Athletic Club

There is a sign-up sheet on Mrs. St. Mary’s door for any student who would like to join the Crescent Athletic Club.  Also, if you would like to run for an office for CAC, please see Mrs. St. Mary.

 

Raffle Tickets:  Please return your tickets to the office ASAP, due date is September 15^th.

Place your ticket stubs and money in an envelope, with your name is listed on the outside of the envelope.  Tickets can be charged to your FACTS account.

 

Car riders and Bus riders, be sure to get all needed items from your locker before reporting to your 8^th period class so that when the bell rings at 3:30, you can report directly to the carline or your bus location.

LISTEN UP!!  Students are being dropped off on Union Street.  You CAN NOT be dropped off at this location, you MUST be dropped off in the carline.  Anyone who is dropped off on Union Street will be written up

 

OLA Sports

Monday:  JH Volleyball @East Central; 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

 

Due to extreme heat conditions this week, we are changing the plan for our soccer tryouts.  There will be no tryouts this week. Instead, there will be a meeting at lunch tomorrow at 11:40 for 7th-9th graders planning to play and at 12:10 for 10th-12th graders planning to play. The on field tryout will be on Monday, August 21st at 6 pm for girls in the 9th-12th grades. The junior high (7th and 8th graders) will not have a tryout. You will receive more information from Coach Jennifer Pacheco, our junior high coach, as the season gets closer.

 

Please make sure your daughter attends the lunch meeting tomorrow. If your daughter is unable to attend, please send an email to emily.corley@ourladyacademy.com and I will let the coaches know to add her name to the list.  

 

Teachers:  Please take daily attendance and enter your lunch count.   Today’s Menu:  Cheesy Chicken Spaghetti, Vegetable and Roll; or Soup and Salad Bar. Today’s Soup: Chicken and Dumpling Soup.

 

At this time, all students please stand for the daily uniform and cell phone check.
