Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, August 15, 2023. 

 

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Colossians 3:12 - As God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Father thank you for bringing us into your family. May we never disappoint you in the way we treat others. May they see in us the qualities of character that can only be attributed to your presence in our lives. Through Jesus my Lord we pray.

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Crescent Athletic Club

There is a sign-up sheet on Mrs. St. Mary’s door for any student who would like to join the Crescent Athletic Club.  Also, if you would like to run for an office for CAC, please see Mrs. St. Mary.

 

Student Council

Attention 7th-grade students!! Student council and class officer elections will be on Friday. You will be electing TWO student council representatives, a class president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and historian. Historians may run as a pair. Paperwork can be picked up at the teacher table in the commons and is due to Mrs. Colbert by Wednesday. You are allowed to hang TWO posters only! 

 

National Art Honor Society meeting will be held this Friday morning, the 18th, at 8:00 am, in Mrs. Troutman's room, 208. This is for all current members and inquiring students. Previously taken Art 1 is a requirement. Other details to follow at the meeting. 

 

Raffle Tickets:  Please return your tickets to the office ASAP, due date is September 15^th.

Place your ticket stubs and money in an envelope, with your name is listed on the outside of the envelope.  Tickets can be charged to your FACTS account.

 

OLA Sports

The junior high volleyball team beat East central last night. Great job girls!

The 9th grade, JV and varsity volleyball teams will play at Gulfport High tonight. 9th grade at 4:30, JV at 5:30 and varsity to follow.

There will be a Soccer meeting at lunch TODAY at 11:40 for 7th-9th graders; and at 12:10 for 10th-12th graders planning to play. The on-field tryouts will be on Monday, August 21st at 6 pm for girls in the 9th-12th grades. The junior high (7th and 8th graders) will not have a tryout. You will receive more information from Coach Jennifer Pacheco, our junior high coach, as the season gets closer.

 

Teachers:  Please take daily attendance and enter your lunch count.   Today’s Menu:  Soft Beef Taco, Spanish Rice, Refried Beans; or Soup and Salad Bar. Today’s Soup: Chicken Tortilla Soup.

 

At this time, all students please stand for the daily uniform and cell phone check.  All students should be wearing their OXFORDS today.  If a student is not dressed in their oxford, please send them to the office.
