OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Friday, November 10, 2023

Good Morning OLA!    Today is Friday, November 10, 2023.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

Tomorrow, we will honor our Veterans, who have served our country with the highest respect.

When Francis Scott Key wrote the “Star Spangled Banner” almost 200 years ago, he called America, “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Those words are as true today as they were then. Throughout this Nation’s history, America’s soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and coast guardsmen have bravely answered the call to defend our freedom, to aid our friends and allies, and to turn back aggressors. We can never fully repay our debt of gratitude to those American service members who died or were wounded in battle.  We can, however, recognize and thank the veterans living today.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating their birthday on Sunday is Clarie Murtagh.  Happy “Early” Birthday Claire!

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

Our Alpha Omega Robotic Team will have a booth at the Courthouse on Main Street for the Stennis Day in the Bay, tomorrow from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Next week, the Student Council will be sponsoring a turkey teacher contest. Council members have placed a turkey for each teacher in the gap. We sell “feathers” to be added to the turkey for $1. For $2, a person can take a feather off a turkey. Student Council members will sell the feathers, keep track of the number sold, and glue the feathers on daily. On the Thursday before Thanksgiving, they will announce the name of the teacher with the most feathers–the turkey teacher–who will proudly wear a turkey suit on Friday!

We aim to raise $500 to purchase a second swing for the courtyard and help kick off OLA’s I Give Catholic appeal!!   BRING YOUR DOLLARS! WHO WILL BE STRUTTING AND TURKEY TROTTING THE HALLWAYS!  Gobble Gobble

NJHS is hosting a Penny Wars fundraiser for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence! The turkey banks for each grade can be found in front of Mrs. Tolar's room. Whichever grade donates the most money will earn a cozy free dress day of sweatpants, appropriate t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tennis shoes next Friday! Every penny counts as one point for that grade, and silver coins or paper bills take away a point. You can put paper bills or silver coins in other grades' turkeys to target another grade. Have fun!

Today is the last day to order your SADD sweatshirt.  See Camille Boudreaux or Mrs. Haas, if you do not have the link to order.

The cafeteria will not be serving lunch NEXT Friday, November 18th.  An email was sent out to all students to place their order for a Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizza.  You MUST place your pizza order by the end of the day TODAY.  If you do not place your order for a pizza, please plan to bring a lunch from home next Friday.  Please Note, the faculty will not be ordering pizza, we are having a Thanksgiving meal in the teacher’s lounge instead.

Teachers:  Please take daily attendance and also enter yours and your student’s lunch selection.

Today’s Menu: Veterans Day Luncheon:  Hamburger and Chips.

At this time, all students please stand for the daily uniform and cell phone check.

That’s all from WOLA, Have a Great Day!
