Good Morning OLA!   Today is Friday, December 8, 2023.  

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 

Jesse Tree

Today we place ornaments on our Jesse Tree to remind us of the Ten Commandments and of Ruth and Boaz. 

Ruth says to her mother-in-law, "Don't urge me to leave you, and to return from following you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay.  Your people will be my people, and your God my God."  Ruth showed that she lived the love the Ten Commandments call for in her love and devotion to Naomi.  Ruth and Boaz becomes the second husband of Ruth and introduces her to following the one true God.  They have a son, Obed, who will be the father of Jesse, and the grandfather of King David, an ancestor of Jesus. 

Important Messages

Monday is our Christmas Bruch.  Students and Staff can wear “school appropriate” pajamas with closed back shoes, no slippers.

Christmas Band Concert! Tuesday night at 6:30 in the Bro. Peter gym.  Free admission, please support our band members by attending this event.

Come out to our annual "Late Night Breakfast" Study Session on Thursday, December 14th from 600 to 730 pm in the OLA Commons, provided by Mu Alpha Theta.  Come study with your friends, ask your teachers those last minute exam questions, and enjoy some bacon (and other breakfast foods)!  Any questions, see Ms. Ashley.  

Service Hours

The Long Beach Carnival Association and St. Clare Church are still in need of student to help with their events this weekend.  This is a great way to earn service hours.  Please stop by the office to sign-up. 

OLA Sports

Both junior high basketball teams beat St. Patrick last night! Great job girls!! 

Friday: State Dance Competition in Jackson at 2:00.  - JV/Varsity soccer at home vs. St. Patrick, varsity at 5:30 and JV to follow. 

Softball interest meeting today after school in the Commons.

Students interested in playing softball, please sign-up ASAP.  Sign-up sheet is posted in the window of the Student Resource Lab.  Practice will start on the first day back from Christmas break. 

Teachers:  Please take daily attendance and also enter yours and your student’s lunch selection.   

Today’s Menu: Chicken Nuggets, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy and Vegetable; or Soup and Salad Bar.  Today’s soup is Chili. 

At this time, all students please stand for the daily uniform and cell phone check.
