OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Good Morning OLA!  Today is Monday, December 18, 2023.  

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 

Birthdays

Celebrating their birthday today is Ava Davis. Happy Birthday to Ava!

 

Important Messages

Jesse Tree

Today we place a symbol on the Jesse Tree to represent John the Baptist. 

Zacharias was a priest in the Temple.  His wife, Elizabeth, was a cousin of Mary.  Zacharias and Elizabeth were devoted to God, and they prayed for a child, even though they were advanced in age.  An angel appeared to Zacharius when he was serving in the Temple and told him, "Your wife, Elizabeth, will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John."  He was told the child would be filled with the Holy Spirit and would be a prophet and would prepare the people to receive the Messiah. Mary travels to Judah to visit Elizabeth, and the baby, John, leapt in his mother's womb.  There was great rejoicing!  John would grow up to preach the need for repentance and Baptism. 

May we hear and live John's words today to, "repent, and make way for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." 

Teachers:  Please take daily attendance and also enter yours and your student’s lunch selection.   

Today’s Menu: Popcorn Chicken, French Fries, Green Peas and Fruit; or Soup and Salad Bar.  Today’s soup is Chicken Tortilla. 

At this time, all students please stand for the daily uniform and cell phone check.
