OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Thursday, December 7, 2023
Good Morning
OLA! Today is Thursday, December 7, 2023.
Please stand for our morning
prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy
Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive
us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Please remain standing for the Pledge:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one
nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Jesse
Tree
Today we place ornaments on our tree to represent Joseph, son of Jacob, and Moses.
Joseph's father gave him a beautiful tunic and his brothers became jealous and hated him for it. They sold him into slavery in Egypt, where he gained favor with Pharaoh and became a leader. When his brothers and their families traveled to Egypt during the famine, Joseph took pity on them, forgave them, and was able to save them from the famine.
The Israelites were enslaved in Egypt for 400 years. God appeared to Moses, revealing his name and promising to lead the Chosen People to the Promised Land. They escaped Pharoah through the Exodus and wandered in the desert for 40 years, where God provided for them and gave them the 10 commandments so they would know how to love God and each other.
