OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tuesday, December 19, 2023
Good Morning
OLA! Today is Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
Please stand for our morning
prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy
Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive
us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Please remain standing for the Pledge:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one
nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Important Messages
Jesse
Tree
Today we remember Bethlehem as the birthplace of Jesus, and the Angels who proclaimed that the Savior had been born.
Bethlehem is also called the City of David because it was the birthplace of King David. It was long prophesied that it would also be the birthplace of the Messiah. Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem because Caesar Augustus, the Roman ruler, ordered every man to return to the place of his birth for the census., and Joseph was from Bethlehem. This little town has great importance, and many still travel there today to see the birthplace of Christ.
The angels, like us, were created with free will. Some disobeyed God and fell from heaven. The good angels chose to love God and obey Him, and they live in joy with God. These angels serve as God's messengers to us.
On the night of Jesus's birth, angels visited the shepherds in the fields who were protecting their flocks. The angels told the shepherds, "do not fear; I bring news of great joy!" The angel told the shepherds where they might find the Christ child, and the shepherds left in haste to go pay homage to Jesus.
Our
hearts are where Jesus wants to live. Will you open your heart today to
receive Jesus and will you sing and proclaim, "Glory to God," by your
life?
