Tuesday, December 5, 2023 Morning Announcements
OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tuesday, December 5, 2023
Good Morning
OLA! Today is Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
Please stand for our morning
prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy
Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive
us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Please remain standing for the Pledge:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one
nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Jesse Tree
Today we add ornaments to symbolize Noah and Abraham.
Genesis 6
says, “God said to Noah, ‘I will bring an end to all flesh, for the earth is
filled with violence’.”
The story
of Noah represents how deeply we have fallen into sinfulness.
The
destruction that sin has started is coming to completion, but God protects Noah
and his family by telling Noah to build the ark. After the floor, God
paints a rainbow in the sky as a sign of his pledge to never destroy the world
by flood again.
God tells
Abraham, “I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars.”
Abraham was told by God to leave his homeland and move his
relatives to a new land, and God promised to make him a great nation.
This required a great deal of faith on the part of Abraham and his wife Sarah,
as they had no children, and were considered too old to have children.
But, God did bless them with the birth of their son, Isaac.
God calls
us, but sometimes it is difficult to follow what God asks. As we journey
through Advent, we pray for an increase in our faith, to trust God and to go
where he leads.
All are invited to join in a bible study with the Blessed Virgin Mary during lunchtime. See Mrs. Mayer for details and to sign up.
On Thursday, campus ministry and the choir will be traveling to Dunbar Village to sing Christmas Carols with the elders. We would love for you to join us! Please see Mrs. Mayer or Marley Kinniburgh for details.
