Good Morning OLA!  Today is Wednesday, October 23, 2024.  

Morning Offering and Special Intentions:

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.  

 

Psalms 40:8  I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Our focus, desiring to do God's will -- a passion to love the things our Father loves and despise the things he despises.


Father, we do want to do your will. We want to please you, glorify you, and lead others to you. Give us spiritual discernment to know your will and spiritual courage to do it today. We want your character and righteousness to inform our hearts when we are tempted not to live for you. Gently humble us when we are wrong or have lost our way. Through Jesus we pray.

 

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Birthdays

Celebrating their birthday today is Khara Colbert.  Happy Birthday Mrs. Colbert! 

Important Messages

The SSC Student Council is hosting and dance for all 7th and 8th grade students at OLA and Saint Stanislaus this Saturday in the SSC Mall.  The dance is from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm and the cost of admission is $5.  Some concessions will be sold.  The attire is casual. 

 

ACT Prep Course

Mr. Gemelli will hold his ACT prep course October 21st through the 24th, flyers are available in the office.  

OLA Sports

Congrats to our OLA middle school basketball teams for their victories on the road against very good Biloxi teams. Both games were very close in the 4th quarter and our girls fought hard and pulled away at the end. The 7th Grade Team won 16-7 and the 8th grade team won 32-25. Good luck this weekend at the PRCC Wildcat Classic in Poplarville. 

Congratulations to our golf team! They are state champions! Tilley Newman finished 3rd overall, Gabby Haas was 4th overall, Hope Ponte was 13th and Emma Monti was 22nd. We are so proud of y’all! 

Lunch and Attendance

Teachers:  Please enter your attendance and lunch orders.   Today’s Menu: Hamburger Steak; Rice & Gravy; and Corn; or Soup and Salad Bar. Today’s Soup is Lobster Bisque.

Last Day of School – Dress Code & Dismissal Information

  Dear Parents, As we approach the last day of school on  Friday , please take note of the following important reminders: Students may wear shorts and a t-shirt  on the last day. Please ensure attire is school-appropriate. 8th grade students  should bring their  complete Mass uniform  to change into for the  8th Grade Promotion Ceremony . Exams will end at 10:00 AM. From  10:00–11:00 AM , students will report to their  class sponsor’s classroom . During this time, they will be called to the office to  return Chromebooks and chargers . 8th graders  will return their Chromebooks during their  8th period exam .
