Good Morning
OLA! Today is Monday,
August 25, 2025.
Morning Offering and
Special Intentions:
Please stand for our morning
prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy
Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive
us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Please remain standing for the Pledge:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

OLA Sports
This past Saturday, the OLA Crescents lined
up at the Cory McGee Open in Pass Christian. The Varsity
squad finished 8th out of 16 teams—and were only 22
points behind division rival Saint Patrick, a very promising sign for
the season ahead!
In
the Varsity 5K, team captain Maddelyn North delivered
a breakthrough performance, shattering her 2024 best by nearly two minutes with
a 26:26 finish. Just as impressive was the pack behind
her—sophomores Adi Lepley, Leah Vollenweider, and Bijou Ellison all
crossed within thirty seconds of Maddelyn and each other, demonstrating the
kind of tight scoring spread that makes a team dangerous in championship
racing.
In
the Junior High 3K, 7th grader Callie
Zimmerli stormed to 7th place overall out of 115
runners, clocking a blazing 13:46. Right behind
her, Annie Lee (15:42) and Bernadette
Hoffmann (15:41) ran stride for stride to score valuable points,
while Eliza-Mae Bendich (18:08) showed steady
improvement as another key scorer. Rounding out the squad was Vivian
Sevener, who followed in her sister Estelle’s footsteps with a solid
debut performance of just under 20 minutes.
This
marks the first time OLA has ever fielded a full junior high team,
and this group already looks like a podium threat at the Middle
School State Classic in October. The Crescents return to action
in two weeks at our home meet—the Saint Stanislaus Cross Country
Classic on September 6th. And if there are any girls still brave
enough to lace up and help out, there’s room on this team—just reach out to
captain Maddelyn North.
