Morning Offering and S pecial Intentions: Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Today, we pray for Holy Wednesday. Holy Wednesday is also known as Spy Wednesday because it is traditionally thought of as the day Judas Iscariot conspired to betray Jesus to the Sanhedrin in exchange for 30 pieces of silver. Because Judas is thought to be sneaky, his actions conjured up the image of a spy. Today, we pray for Spy Wednesday. Lord God, We tremble to think That it was one of Jesus’ own friends who betrayed him. One who sat by him, who broke bread with him.
