Tuesday, November 14, 2023 Morning Announcements
OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tuesday, November 14, 2023
Good Morning
OLA! Today is Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Job 37:5-6 - God's voice thunders in marvelous
ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, 'Fall
on the earth,' and to the rain shower, 'Be a mighty downpour.'
Thoughts on today's verse: Isn't that a beautiful phrase! "God's
voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our
understanding." Rather than spending a lot of time talking or thinking
about how marvelous God is, let's praise him in prayer.
Holy, Righteous, and Eternal God, You alone are
truly and fully holy. We cannot
comprehend the distant outskirts of your ways. But we love you. You are so far
beyond us on our best days, we can't quite understand why you would pay such a
cost to redeem us. But, Dear God, we thank you. In Jesus name we
pray,
Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy
Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive
us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Please remain standing for the Pledge:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
BIRTHDAYS
Celebrating their birthday today is Ashley Hall. Today is Ashley’s first day at OLA. So, if you see Ashley, please wish her a Happy Birthday and welcome her to our school!
IMPORTANT MESSAGES
Attention All National Honor
Society Members_
In RECOGNITION OF HOMELESSNESS AND HUNGER AWARENESS WEEK, there will be a
special presentation TODAY at lunch by Open Doors Coalition. Please plan to
attend as this meeting will be part of the required NHS individual service
requirements. A special drive to collect household items for families who have
been newly homed will begin this afternoon.
The Student Council will be
sponsoring a turkey teacher contest. Council members have placed a turkey for
each teacher in the gap. We sell “feathers” to be added to the turkey for $1.
For $2, a person can take a feather off a turkey. Student Council members will
sell the feathers, keep track of the number sold, and glue the feathers on
daily. On the Thursday before Thanksgiving, they will announce the name of the
teacher with the most feathers–the turkey teacher–who will proudly wear a
turkey suit on Friday!
We aim to raise $500 to purchase a second swing for the courtyard and help kick off OLA’s I Give Catholic appeal!! BRING YOUR DOLLARS! WHO WILL BE STRUTTING AND TURKEY TROTTING THE HALLWAYS! Gobble Gobble
NJHS is hosting a Penny Wars fundraiser for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence! The turkey banks for each grade can be found in front of Mrs. Tolar's room. Whichever grade donates the most money will earn a cozy free dress day of sweatpants, appropriate t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tennis shoes on Friday! Every penny counts as one point for that grade, and silver coins or paper bills take away a point. You can put paper bills or silver coins in other grades' turkeys to target another grade. Have fun!
Teachers: Please take daily attendance and also enter yours and your student’s lunch selection.
Today’s Menu: Lasagna, Corn and Breadstick; or Soup and Salad
Bar. Today’s soup is Shrimp, Corn and
Crab Bisque.
At this time, all students please stand for
the daily uniform and cell phone check.
That’s
all from WOLA, Have a Great Day!
