Thoughts on today's verse:  When things are tough, we find it easy to call on God and lean on his mercy and grace. He is our Savior. But when things are going well, we forget to acknowledge that all the blessings we have and all the opportunities we have received come because of his grace. Peter reminds us that we must have three commitments:  actively share concern with those who grieve; share love just like a healthy family does; and show compassion as we deal with others failures toward us. Loving Shepherd, I know you have been a wise and loving Father to me. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thoughts on today's verse:  Hearts full of thanks -- that's what makes for good singing! With Jesus as the source of our salvation and center of our future, how can we not sing!  But singing is not just for us and God.  God wants our songs to bless others.
