Crescent Chatter - OLA Announcements

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS Wednesday, December 8, 2021   Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, December 8, 2021.    Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.     In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.   This morning we place the tablets, the rope, and the hands on the Jesse Tree.   The best way to know how to use or take care of your car is to read the owner's manual.  It is written by the creator of the item.  The Ten Commandments are an owner's manual for our lives.  They were a merciful gift from God to tell us how to love.   Rahab saved the lives of God's people by helping Joshua and the Israelites when they fought the Battle of Jericho.  She was brave and believed in God's power.  God remembered her, honored her, ...

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS Tuesday, December 7, 2021   Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, December 7, 2021.    Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.     In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.   Today we place the Ram, Jacob's Ladder, and the Coat of Many Colors on our Jesse tree.   God asked Abraham to do the unthinkable when he asked him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac.  Abraham demonstrated great trust and faith in God.  Instead, God provided a ram for the sacrifice.  Thousands of years later, God would send His only-begotten son, Jesus Christ, to save us.   The purpose of God's work in history is to bring us to salvation, so we can live with Him forever in heaven.  God gave us many ways to be in union with him, like t...

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS Monday, December 6, 2021   Good Morning OLA!   Today is Monday, December 6, 2021.    Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.     In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.   John 10:14-15   [Jesus said,] "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me - just as the Father knows me and I know the Father - and I lay down my life for the sheep." Thoughts on today's verse:  In a world where so many people want to attract our attention and are willing to give us advice, we can refuse their voice. We listen to Jesus because he has shown his love for us by laying down his life for us. He is the Good Shepherd. Holy Father, Help me hear his voice through your Word. Help me hear his voice through the wise counsel of s...

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS Friday, December 3, 2021   Good Morning OLA!   Today is Friday, December 3, 2021.    Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.     In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Today we place the promised land and the tent on the Jesse tree.   The Lord has said to Abraham “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you…” Abraham puts his faith and trust in God to lead him and his family on this journey.  Sometimes God asks us to do things that are hard.  Sometimes he leads us on difficult paths that we would rather not travel.  He asks us to be good and to stand for truth when it would be easier, and sometimes more fun, to disobey him.   God made a promise to Abraham,...

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS Thursday, December 2, 2021   Good Morning OLA!   Today is Thursday, December 2, 2021.    Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.     In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.   Today we place the apple and snake and the ark on the Jesse Tree.   We heard yesterday that God created everything good, and without sin or evil in the world.  Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, bringing darkness and the consequences of sin and the rejection of God's love into the world.  Like a loving Father, God had to let them suffer the consequences of their choices.  They were sent from the beautiful garden and would now face hardship, suffering, and death.  But God made a promise that he would always love them and that...

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS Wednesday, December 1, 2021   Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, December 1, 2021.    Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.     In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.   Today we place the watch tower and the creation ornaments on our Jesse Tree.   Habakkuk is one of the minor prophets of the Old Testament. He laments God's good and righteous children suffering at the hands of their enemies.  God tells Habakkuk to stand watch at the watchtower and wait for God to come in glory and justice.  We are reminded that in our busy lives, we need to stop and watch and hope for the coming of Christ.   God is the creator of all things, and everything he created was good.  Even though there is now sin and sadness in...
